Composting of household waste
\nIt can be used from 1\/2 to 1 liter of earthworm biomass in each compost bin where household waste such as vegetables, fruits, breads, pasta, spoiled food, coffee, tea, egg shell, etc. have been collected.
\nEXCEPT MEAT AND DAIRY products and generally non-biodegradable materials which develop odors and pathogens and do not allow earthworms to survive.
\nPartial digging and spraying to liquefy the waste mixture helps aerobic fermentation and better composting of waste by earthworms.<\/p>\n
Other uses of earthworms:
\nThey are suitable as baits for fishing, for bird breeding, for humus of sewage and mainly for upgrading tired soils in gardens and organic farms.
\nEarthworms do not eat the roots of plants, do not cause any problems in crops, on the contrary they feed on decomposed organic matter and are generally the most useful and tireless workers of nature.<\/p>\n
Caution:
\nEarthworms are kept in a shady and cool environment and in their packaging mixtures should not remain more than 30-40 days.
\nThe ideal temperature during their development in the compost bins ranges between 17-23 degrees Celsius, over 29 degrees they can not stand and die.
\nEarthworms need a moist environment.
\nIdeal humidity 75-90%
\nAvoid contact with or mixing foods with chemicals, detergents and other toxic preparations.
